What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of New Life Christian Ministries based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

BIBLE
We believe in the verbal inspiration and inerrancy of the
Scriptures and the authority of both the Old and New Testaments.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.  2 Timothy 3:16

God

We believe that God eternally exists in three persons-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit- and that these three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of the same worship, reverence, and obedience.

For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  1John 5:7-8

Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God but sinned and fell through disobedience.  The entire human race shares in man's lost and depraved nature.

So, God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female.  He created them. Genesis 1:27

jesus christ

We believe that Jesus, the eternal Son of God, took upon Himself the form of a man by means of the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, yet retained His absolute deity, being at the very same time, God and man.

Atonement for sin

We believe that atonement for sin was made by the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ.

Resurrection

We believe in the literal resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and His priestly intercession.

Salvation

We believe salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and received
through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
This faith is manifested in works that are pleasing to God.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father.  He is the Comforter who indwells and places every believer in the body of Christ, as well as, bestows spiritual gifts upon the church and convicts the world of their sin and the judgment to come.

THE INDWELLING OF THE SPIRIT

While all believers are in-dwelt by the Spirit of God (Romans 8),
we believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a definite endowment
of power for service and is separate from conversion.

ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH

We believe that the ordinances of the church, by the command of Christ,
are water baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper,
both of which are administered to those who are born again.
